Getting The Job: Crafting Your Teaching Philosophy

The hands-on exercises and constructive feedback you’ll receive in this workshop will prepare you to create a teaching philosophy statement that helps you stand out in a crowded pool of applicants.

You've been developing your unique pedagogical style through your teaching and mentoring experiences and professional development; now you need to effectively communicate your teaching philosophy in a formal statement for job applications or a teaching portfolio. Whether you are just getting started or you’ve already written a draft that just needs some fine-tuning, the hands-on exercises and constructive peer feedback you’ll receive in this workshop will help you further develop your teaching philosophy statement. Participants who already have a draft teaching philosophy are encouraged to bring it.
