Developing an Excellent Education Plan for your CAREER Proposal (Spring 2022)

Registration is closed for this event
Learn from successful CAREER proposals and discuss strategies for developing your own integrated research and education plan for your proposal.

Date and time: Thursday, May 5, 9:00am – 12:00pm
Location: DeLuca Forum, Wisconsin Institute of Discovery

The National Science Foundation (NSF) Faculty Early Career Development (CAREER) Program offers the foundation’s most prestigious awards. It supports junior faculty who exemplify the role of teacher-scholars through outstanding research, excellent education, and the integration of education and research. All CAREER proposals must have an integrated research and education plan at their core, and this workshop will help you think creatively about how your plan can reflect your own disciplinary and educational interests and goals, as well as the needs and context of your organization. During the workshop, you will discuss strategies for writing a successful education plan, listen to faculty who have submitted successful proposals as they share their tips and insights on the review process, and start drafting your proposal.

This workshop is designed for faculty preparing to submit proposals in all fields of science, engineering, and mathematics, and is co- sponsored by the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research and Graduate Education, the Delta Program in Research, Teaching, and Learning, and the Discovery Building's public engagement with science programs supported by the Wisconsin Alumni Research Foundation (WARF), Morgridge Institute for Research, and the Wisconsin Institute for Discovery.
