ΔΔ Effective Teaching in an Internationally Diverse College Classroom Fridays, 10:00am – 12:00pm, starting Sept 10 Using the lens of international experience, this discussion-based course models 'flipped classroom' and 'blended learning' approaches and advances your skills in leveraging the diversity of your students for the learning of all. ∆∆ Beyond Rhetoric: Developing an Ethical & Equitable Practice Tuesdays, 3:30pm – 5:30pm, starting September 14 The call to develop an ethical teaching approach that both promotes justice and does not perpetuate harm is more urgent now than ever. Participants will gain a better sense of how to communicate their values on teaching, learning, and equity on paper, as well as a strong sense of what this means for their day to day lives and work. ΔΔ Exploring Practices in the Classroom: Navigating Challenges with Inclusive Teaching Thursdays, 1:20pm – 3:00pm, starting September 16 Join this community of TAs and develop confidence to respond to conflict in the classroom and promote equity through actions. We will also explore how to better support students who have been marginalized by university systems. Δ Improv to Improve Science Communication and Teaching Wednesdays, 2:00pm – 4:00pm, starting September 8 Use the principles of improv theater to improve your communication in multiple contexts and audiences, including talking with colleagues, presenting your research, and teaching in the classroom.
